12. What exactly do the case studies demonstrate? <Return to table of contents The case study accounts of the individual participants are used to provide the documentary evidence that demonstrates the application of the research methodology to the participant’s contextual situation. Each of the case study accounts draws upon further evidence from the interviews and the focus group meetings. The evidence in these case study accounts is specifically provided to demonstrate that the Leading by Design learning process enables each participant to develop increasing mastery in the practice of health design leadership. It is a direct consequence of this increasing mastery that each participant is better able to cultivate ‘generative space’ predictably, consistently, and reliably in their respective environments for the purpose of making systemic and sustainable improvements to health and healthcare delivery.
